Parts Europe OldBook by BMG

dragspecialties.eu | #SINCE1968 partseurope.eu “Tom is an occasional visitor to the shop,” Mook said.“He came in, and there was some discussion about what we had available that might work for a cover bike build. I had a couple potentials, but the whole time we were talking, the FXR project was sitting up there on the lift. It kept catching our attention, like it was saying ‘Pick me! Pick me!’And that’s what we did!” The final parts list expanded to include Saddlemen FXR mini fairing, a RWD rear fender and Klock Werks front fender.“Those pieces gave the painter a great blank canvas to work with,” Mook said. “I already had the frame, cases and some other parts powdercoated black, and also had some silver in the bike already,” Mook said.“But I started to think about the final look for a cover bike, it needs to have that classic Drag Specialties blue in it. I’m not a ‘blue bike’ kind of guy, but for this build, I really wanted to have blue be a featured color.” Mook gave his ideas for the final look to the painter, Eric Malotke at Open Throttle Customs, with the suggestion to “Just go for it! I asked for multiple shades of blue, to go super-blue, in a sense,” he said. “And he got it just perfect.” The blue paint is accented with a lot of Arlen Ness anodized blue accessories.“Those guys are just the kings of custom,” Mook said.“They keep coming out with these amazing parts and finishes. I went with their footpegs, grips, mirrors, levers, the fork brace, all anodized in blue.” The bike’s seat is a Drag Specialties Predator III with double-diamond stitching with blue thread. The exhaust system is from Trask, in Mook’s preferred finish of choice - stainless steel.“I love the look of stainless steel for the exhaust,” he said.“It is low maintenance, and it looks racy.” “I really want to emphasize what an honor it is to have a bike on the cover,” Mook said.“And this build is a true team effort – every single member of the team at some point had their hands on this bike. And this build really is a true catalog build. I think there are only three parts in the entire build that are not from the OldBook – this bike is a great representation of what you can do with one of the most iconic Harley Davidson models and the parts in the OldBook and FatBook.”
